Sarah Palin's Sound and Fury

Michael Joseph Gross wrote a new article for Vanity Fair about Sarah Palin, "Sarah Palin the Sound and the Fury;" it was illustrated by Edward Sorel.

Even as Sarah Palin’s public voice grows louder, she has become increasingly secretive, walling herself off from old friends and associates, and attempting to enforce silence from those around her. Following the former Alaska governor’s road show, the author delves into the surreal new world Palin now inhabits—a place of fear, anger, and illusion, which has swallowed up the engaging, small-town hockey mom and her family—and the sadness she has left in her wake.

I especially like the parts that have just been contradicted by Meghan Meghan's book as well as private family pictures that depicts a happy family - family that Bristol defends on her facebook page. Liberal losers!

The NY Daily News: "Game Change," the 2008 deconstruction, says the stress of vaulting onto the national stage caused Palin to have wild mood swings.

"One minute, Palin would be her perky self; the next she would fall into a strange blue funk," the authors write.

The morning of her ill-fated CBS interview with Katie Couric, Palin - "her eyes glassy and dead" - was unresponsive to attempts to prep her as she was being made up.

"As they were about to set off to meet Couric, Palin announced 'I hate this makeup' - smearing it off her face, messing up her hair, complaining she looked fat," the book relates.

Palin went on to give answers to Couric that were so incoherent the interview permanently damaged her.

I'm not so sure the campaign caused her temper problem. Read what Todd, someone who knew her before 2008, had to say when asked about another outburst during the campaign:

During the campaign, Palin lashed out at the slightest provocation, sometimes screaming at staff members and throwing objects. Witnessing such behavior, one aide asked Todd Palin if it was typical of his wife. He answered, “You just got to let her go through it… Half the stuff that comes out of her mouth she doesn’t even mean.”

Shannyn Moore smokes! Is that her Subaru Sarah was referring to when she said, “….that bumper sticker that maybe you’ll see on the next Subaru drivin’ by, an Obama bumper sticker, you should stop the driver and say, ‘So how is that hopey changey think workin’ out for ya?’”

nswfm, Yes, she did look much better during the campaign. She seems to be careless about her appearance when she's on her own, so all of the fussing over her appearance may have culminated in the meltdown the morning of the Katie Couric interview.

That's because the bugs don't care about what she looks like.

BTW, I didn't say I thought *she* was pretty, I thought the "cloths," as the genius Todd writes, were pretty. The stage make up covered the evil insect that she is, but some of us could see through it on 8/29/08.

That AM, I was having breakfast at my parents' house after an AM appointment. Mom couldn't stand her before she saw her--from her voice alone--and Dad could tell she was cross-eyed and trying to hide it. They are both registered as Rs. I knew she was full of shit before she said one complete paragraph in Ohio. And we all knew McCain was a horndog.

LoLz. Patrick Palingates has issued a challenge: "Where has our reporting been factually incorrect? Please don't hold back. ;-)"

That came in a post about Vanity Fair's article, which included a digressive rant about c4p for some unknown reason. It's a challenge to palinbots, but they wouldn't be interested in doing that, so I may take up the challenge (I am not a palinbot). I recall one, possibly two, factually inaccurate palingates posts (unless they've been corrected) and may post about them, but may not. I don't have time to do it now.

I don't believe Patrick is a German attorney. To paraphrase Rex Butler -- who is an attorney -- "We don't know for a fact that Patrick is a German attorney." ;-)

Patrick may have an unusual idea of what a "fact" is, too. I'm sure he does, so the matter may not be worth pursuing.

This from someone who often screeches about a mental disorder he/she assumes Sarah Palin has, but probably isn't a doctor and is behaving unethically if he/she is.
