Nick Broomfield's film, 'Sarah Palin: You Betcha', to open in New York and L.A!

Nick Broomfield, whose documentary films include "Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam" and "Kurt and Courtney," has obtained funding to open his Sarah Palin documentary film in New York and Los Angeles. Additional funding for expansion to other cities has also been obtained.

From The Hollywood Reporter's story:
... It will open in New York and Los Angeles on Sept. 30, and in more cities in the weeks following.

Its world premiere is at the 2011 Toronto Film Festival this Sunday.

Broomfield raised more than $30,000 via crowd funding on Kickstarter to release the documentary's release. Private investors are contributing to its expansion. ...
They're not cherry-picking venues, like the producers of Sarah Palin's film tried to do and still failed. This is excellent news and also validates the work of Kickstarter.

Here is the "Sarah Palin: You Betcha" trailer:

Is there still enough interest in Sarah Palin to sell tickets? We'll see. Joe McGinniss' book sales numbers, too, may be an indication of whether the public is still interested in Sarah Palin.

"Nick Broomfield was awarded the BAFTA Lifetime Achievement Award for Contribution to Documentary, and was given honorary doctorates from Essex and Surrey University. He was awarded the California State Bar Award for his contribution to Legal Reform and is a founding member of the Morecambe Bay Victims Fund." -- Wikipedia's Nick Broomfield entry

Update: "'Sarah Palin: You Betcha!' doc gets distributor, opens in NYC and LA on Sept. 30" is another story, and "Freestyle takes Sarah Palin docu" is yet another.
